Starbucks is giving away a free cup of coffee on January 21, 2009 when you “pledge” to do 5 hours of community service. You can sign up for an e-mail reminder to visit your local Starbucks at this link. Here’s the fine print on the offer:

Another day, another coupon. One SD’er received a coupon from his veterinarian that puppy owners everywhere will appreciate. The coupon allows the presenter to:

“Save up to $11.50 on one 8 lb. or smaller bag of Purina ONE Puppy, Pro Plan Puppy, Pro Plan Selects Puppy, or Purina Puppy Chow, any variety.

He writes: “The Puppy Chow came in 8 lb. bags, all the others are 6 lbs. it looked like. I went to Petsmart and all of them were under 11.50, so it came out to free…”

So, feel free to try this out- the coupon is obviously a copy but you’re not losing anything trying and by saying it was an Internet coupon. Printing in color helps. One clever trick someone on SD mentioned a while ago was printing coupons on the back of cardboard, ie. a ripped cereal carton.

The coupon expires in December, so you’ll have plenty of time to try this out.

Microsoft’s servers are OVERLOADED and it’s nearly impossible to get to the download page. If you’re having problems, you can do more than just sit tight and wait. Have you been dying to try Microsoft’s latest and greatest operating system (Windows 7) but haven’t been able to because you don’t want to mess with illegal torrents? Well, fortunately, for you, Microsoft is giving out 2.5 million legal beta copies of Windows 7 on January 9, 2008 (Pacific Standard Time)! This deal is live starting tomorrow, so this post is more of heads up. Just be sure to visit the site at that time and claim your free download and free legal beta key for Windows 7! Be quick though- there a lot of people who’ll probably want a copy. Windows 7 has been getting some pretty impressive reviews! Be warned though, the beta expires on August 1st, 2009. You can download the software on a virtual machine if you’d don’t want to mess with your current operating system and aren’t sure you’ll upgrade in August.

Just print out the coupon and give it to person behind the cash register. It clearly says that no purchase is required so you’ll be able to enjoy a free meal. Here’s a handy coupon to get free chips when you’re at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar. Just print out the coupon and present it to your waiter for free chips! (Press the picture to go to the coupon) Really simple and completely legitimate. Obviously there are a few restrictions- the coupon can only be used after 9 PM and it expires on February 28. The way I see it, you can just dip in every night until then, grab some free chips, and go on your merry way. The coupon doesn’t mention any purchase requirement so we can assume that there aren’t any! I hope this helps someone out during the college football season!
